COLOMBO, July 10: Kumar Sangakkara warmed up for an upcoming two-Test series with a solid century for Sri Lanka Cricket XI against the touring West Indians here on Sunday.

Left-handed Sangakkara slammed 109 as the home side declared at 382-9 in the two-day practice game which ended in a draw at the Nondescripts Cricket Club ground.

West Indies, who were bowled out for a meagre 110 in the first innings on Saturday, were 109-4 in their second innings at close of play.

Apart from Sangakkara, Thilan Samaraweera too hit form scoring 95 with eight fours and added 154 for the third wicket with Sangakkara.

Sangakkara’s hundred came off 147 deliveries with 12 fours and a six.

Marvan Atapattu, who was unbeaten on 77 overnight, didn’t resume his innings due to flu.

The Sri Lankan players who will feature in the Test series gained match practice with the exception of Mahela Jayawardene, who was out for a duck.

The only positive for the tourists was off-spinner Omari Banks claiming 6-146.
