Saudi Arabia executes four people for drug trafficking, including 2 Pakistanis

Saudi Arabia's interior ministry said four people were executed on Monday for drug trafficking, including one woman, bringing to 53 the number of people put to death this year.
Two Pakistani men, a Yemeni man and a Nigerian woman were executed in the holy city of Makkah, the ministry said in statements carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.
Fifty-three people have been executed in the kingdom since the beginning of the year, according to a count based on official data released by SPA.
The ultra-conservative kingdom has one of the world's highest execution rates, with those convicted of terrorism, homicide, rape, armed robbery and drug trafficking facing the death penalty.
Rights experts have repeatedly raised concerns about the fairness of trials in the kingdom. The government says the death penalty is a deterrent for further crime.
Last year, Saudi Arabia carried out the death sentences of 120 people.

Please have all passengers, with no exceptions, checked thoroughly before being allowed to board flights to foreign countries. This may require passengers to report 5 hours before departure time. Make the passengers pay for the thorough searches and inspections by hiring more inspectors and acquiring equipment.
I cannot understand how drug smugglers can hoodwink our inspectors and board yet get caught by the inspectors in these foreign lands. If required invite the skilled foreign inspectors to train ours. Such measures may save a few innocent lives and those of 'mules'. The inspectors and the airlines should be harshly punished for bringing a bad name to our country.

Only foreigners are executed on charges of drug trafficking. My question is to whom these foreigners supplied narcotic drugs. How come only the suppliers are punished while the receivers are spared.

Totally agree with Saudi Arabian policy on death penalty. Every single drug smuggler or rapist or murdrer or terrorist in Saudi Arabia KNOWS what the consequences are if they were to get caught. These criminals think of themselves as too clever to be caught and they plan their crimes ... all pre-mediated crimes.
