Committee to review NALC LFO

GILGIT, July 9: The Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas has reconstituted the legal reforms committee to review the Northern Areas Legislative Council’s Legal Framework Order, 1994, with the intention of making it more comprehensive and democratic. The reconstituted committee comprises NALC deputy speaker Syed Asad Zaidi and council members Fida Muhammad Nashad, Advocate Fidaullah, Hafiz Hafizur Rahman, advocate general of Northern Areas, secretary (home, services, GAD and Law) and NALC secretary.

The speaker of the Northern Areas Legislative Council will be chairman of the committee.

The committee will finalize its report and submit its recommendations by July 15 to the minister for Kashmir affairs and Northern Areas, who is also chief executive of the Northern Areas.
