MURREE: Police here have registered a case of illegal construction against Haji Khalil Ahmed, a local PTI leader, SHO Kashif Riaz confirmed to Dawn.

The SHO said on the complaint of an enforcement wing inspector of Tehsil Municipal Corporation (TMA), the police registered the case against Mr Ahmed, the owner of a hotel where the construction was underway.

For over 10 years, there has been a ban on any type of construction in Murree. But influential people continued constructing multi-storey buildings in connivance with some officials of the TMA.

On the other hand, cases were registered against local people for building even small residential houses leading to their demolition.
