QUETTA: Pakistan Day was celebrated across Balochistan with traditional zeal and fervour by the people to show love for their motherland.

Political parties, government institutions, welfare organisations and members of civil society organised functions and took out rallies to mark the day in towns and cities of the province.

The Pakistan Baloch Unity held a rally from Sariab Road to the Quetta Press Club. It was led by its chairman Mir Khuda Bakhsh Mari. The rally’s participants held a 300-metre-long Pakistani flag while chanting the slogan of Pakistan Zindabad.

A flag-hoisting ceremony presided over by Deputy Commissioner Aurangzeb Badeni was held at a rest house in Pishin.

The deputy commissioner, Sector Commander North Brigadier Liaquat Ali and District Police Officer Tariq Elahi Mastoi hoisted the national flag. The police marched on this occasion.

Mr Badeni said on the occasion: “Today is the historic day for the entire Pakistani nation.” He distributed certificates among the family members of martyred Levies officials and paid tribute to the martyred officials.

Tribal leaders, politicians, social leaders and district officers also attended the ceremony.

A ceremony was held at the FC headquarters in Noshki.
