PESHAWAR: Top seed and Pakistan No. 3 Rushna Mehboob moved to the second round in the National Bank of Khyber Women Squash Championship here at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Thursday.

In the first match of the first round, Rushna of ZTBL recorded a 11-7, 11-1, 11-5 victory against Maira Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 19 minutes.

In the other matches, Anum Aziz of Sindh beat Nimra Aqeel 11-9, 11-9, 11-2.

In the third match of the first round, Shafaq Choudhary of Punjab got a walkover against Noorul Huda of SNGPL who did not make it to the match.

In the other match, Amna Fayyaz of Sindh defeated Sana Sher Bahadar of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 11-4, 11-9, 11-6. Amna did not give much room to Sana to strike back. However, Sana played a good attacking game in the second set where she tied the tally twice at 5-5 and 9-9.

Komal Khan of Wapda defeated Kalsoom of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a one-sided affair. The score was 11-7, 11-1, 11-1. Kalsoom failed to click, and thus Komal, a currently Under-19 No. 1, marched to victory.

Aimen Shabaz of (SNGPL) defeated Kainat Khan (SNGPL) 11-7, 11-4, 11-2.

Noor Ul Ain Ejaz of SNGPL defeated Sibga Arshad of Punjab by 3-1 in a thrilling match. The score was 11-4, 5-11, 11-2, 11-9.

Second-seeded Saima Shoukat of Wapda defeated Hira Aqeel of KP by 3-0. The score was 11-4, 11-7 and 11-5.
