SAHIWAL: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday extended for seven days the judicial remand of six CTD accused, who were arrested in connection with the murder of four people, including two women, at Qadirabad under FIR No. 33/19 registered by Yousafwala police station on Jan 19.
Dawn learnt that the court handed over copies of charge sheet to six CTD officials. This is the third time that ATC judge Malik Shabbir Hussain extended remand of the CTD personnel. Later, they were sent to the Sahiwal central prison. According to court sources the final challan of the case had also been completed and submitted to the ATC.
Yousafwala SHO Imdad Hussain confirmed to Dawn that the judge handed over copies of the charge sheet to the CTD officials and set March 14 next date of hearing. After March 14, regular hearing of the case will start at ATC.
It was learnt that in the light of final recommendations of Joint Investigation Team report two more PPC sections had been added to the Jan 19 FIR registered on the complaint of Muhammad Jalil, the brother of deceased Muhammad Khalil.
SHO Imdad Husain said section 201 (for concealing and removing evidence) and section 324 were added in the FIR.
On other hand, Judicial Inquiry Officer Shakeel Ahmed Goraya called Dr. Khalid Rescue District Emergence Officer Abdullah and Bomb Disposal Squad officials in his court and recorded their statements regarding the Jan 19 killing.
Rescue 1122 personnel had shifted the three injured children of Muhammad Khalil to Lahore after they were provided with medical treatment at DHQ teaching hospital.
