ISLAMABAD: Peshawar Zalmi captain Daren Sammy termed his experience of playing in the Pakistan Super League a ‘lifetime treasure’ adding that he has received overwhelming love from the fans through the platform.

“The love they have given me has always been overwhelming for me and its a lifetime treasure. Pakistan is always welcoming and I appreciate the fact that the people here treat me as one of their own,” Sammy was quoted as saying in a press release on Monday.

Sammy, who led the West Indies to triumph in the 2016 World T20, said Zalmi family felt like his own family.

Sammy said the PSL is one of the top cricket leagues in the world and was full of praise for the pace at which it has grown as a brand.

“I see PSL as one of the best leagues in the world as it has become such a big brand in such a short span of time. It is always a treat to play in the PSL, said Sammy, who has featured in the Indian Premier League and the Caribbean Premier League.

He said PSL has provided great emerging cricketers to Pakistan as well as the world.

“Players who perform in PSL also get picked in other international leagues. Ibtisam Sheikh and Sameen Gul are the players to look-out for in Zalmi,” said the all-rounder

“Sheikh is a bespectacled leg-spinner of quality, while Sameen is a burgeoning fast bowler.”
