KARACHI: The new director general of the Karachi Development Authority has started implementing a Supreme Court order in letter and spirit with regard to the repatriation of officials of other department working in the civic body to their parent organisations.

Despite a clear directive of the apex court to send those sent to other departments on deputation to their parent organisations, many officials from other institutions have been enjoying lucrative posts in the KDA.

Referring to a recent decision, officials said that KDA director general Mansoor Abbas Rizvi ordered immediate repatriation of additional director Shahzad Ahmed of the Surjani Town Scheme 41 to his parent department ie district municipal corporation, Malir.

Mr Ahmed had been working on the said position for the past two years in clear violation of the apex court’s order.

Besides, Mr Rizvi is also planning to install a biometric attendance system for KDA employees.
