ISLAMABAD: Three women were killed two other people were critically injured in an accident in the early hours of Saturday.

Police said a group of four women and a man were involved in a car accident on Parbat Road, after the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car fell into a nullah.

Paramedics who recovered the victims found that the driver had died instantly. Two more passengers were pronounced dead at the hospital, and two others are under observation and stated to be in critical condition.

The injured have been identified as Hamza Amir, who lives in F-8/1, and Nimra, a resident of F-11/1, police said. The deceased have been identified as Aisha, Hina and Ramsha.

Kohsar Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Abdul Razzaq told Dawn the group were returning from a party. Circumstantial evidence suggests that the driver, Ramsha, also owned the car and had been talking on a mobile phone.

He said she lost control of the vehicle and the car jumped over the pavement, crashed into the barrier and fell into the nullah. It turned over when it fell into the nullah.

The police found the car in the nullah, recovered the victims and shifted them to the hospital.

Mr Razzaq said it appeared the driver had been dropping her friends home when the accident took place.
