Conference on economy opens tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, Jan 12: The 17th annual three-day general meeting and conference of Pakistan Society of Development Economists will begin here from Monday, January 14.

Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz will inaugurate the conference which will be attended by development economists, policy makers, experts in banking and financial sector.

During the three-day conference the experts will discuss structural adjustment, poverty and growth, issues in fiscal policies, exchange rates, demographic issues, debt burden and growth, poverty and policy reforms, financial markets, agriculture and poverty, employment issues, industrial and technological development, trade performance, monetary economics, human development, trade liberalization, gender and poverty, institutional issues and governance, and economic vision of the Quaid.—APP
