LAHORE: A man allegedly shot dead his sister and niece and injured two others over a property dispute in the precincts of the Factory Area police on Saturday night.
The incident occurred on Ghazi Road where Maqsood Ahmad first shot at and killed Nasreen, 45, and her daughter Bisma, 12, killing them on the spot. He later shot at his eight-year-old nephew, Ahmad, when he tried to ran for a shelter, a police official said, adding the attacker also injured his other sister, Parveen Bibi, and fled the scene.
On hearing gunshots, locals rushed to the house and found the two people dead and one injured, the police official said.
He said the local residents called the police and Rescue 1122 officials who shifted the injured boy to a local hospital. Quoting initial police inquiries, he said, the suspect had a property dispute with his sister and elders of the family had failed to resolve it in many meetings.
A day before the incident, Maqsood hurled threats to Nasreen of consequences for not leaving the house she was occupying.
Nasreen called his sister Perveen for help fearing attack by her brother, the police official said. The forensic teams were collecting evidences from the crime scene.
Bodies were shifted to the city morgue for an autopsy and further investigations were ongoing, he said.

Suspect Imran, a resident of Ahmadabad, attacked his wife, Naila, with a knife and fled the scene, a police official said. She was taken to a local hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
Quoting initial inquiries, the police said the couple had not been enjoying good relations for the last six months.He said a case had been registered against Imran after sending the body to the city morgue for autopsy.
