HYDERABAD, July 4: The provincial Secretary for Culture and Tourism, Ms Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, here on Saturday held two meetings with the district administration Matiari at Bhitshah and district administration Hyderabad at the DCO’s house in connection with the three-day golden jubilee celebrations of Bhitshah Cultural Centre scheduled to be held on July 7, 8 and 9.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Rashdi said that the cultural centre has played a pivotal role in disseminating the message of the immortal poet through eminent writers, ulema, historians, research scholars and artists during the last 50 years.

She said that the golden jubilee celebrations of the centre will be held at Bhitshah, Hyderabad and Karachi respectively to enable participation of maximum number of people in the celebrations.

Giving details, she said, the golden jubilee celebrations of the centre will commence at Bhitshah on July 7 and the provincial minister for culture and tourism, Mr Shabbir Ahmed Kaim Khani and the Sajjada Nasheen of the shrine, Syed Nisar Hussain Shah, will lay a chaddar on the Mazar of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

She said, on the same day, the training school of “Shah Jo Raag” will be inaugurated, a souvenir will be unveiled and a Sindhi-Urdu Mushaira will be organised in the evening.

She said, on the second day, a seminar will be held at Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium, Sindh Museum, Hyderabad which will be presided over by the renowned scholar, Dr Nabi Bux Baloch while the provincial minister for culture and tourism will be the chief guest.

A “Sughar katchehry” and a stage play “Moomal Rano” will also be held at the same place and a musical programme will be organised at the Hyderabad club at 9pm.

On the last day of the celebrations, Ms Rashidi said, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai international conference will be held at a private Hotel, at Karachi.

Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad, will be the chief guest at the first session which will be addressed by Hero Thakur from India and scholars from NWFP and Punjab.
