QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Monday announced the launching of an education programme in the province to provide modern and best possible education facilities to students in all schools of the province.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the education department held here to review educational facilities in all schools of the province.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Jamal Kamal Khan Alyani.

For implementing the programme, Rs4 billion has been allocated by the provincial government and under the chief minister’s initiative, class rooms, toilets, IT labs, admin blocks, sports grounds and boundary walls etc will be constructed in hundreds of primary, middle and high schools of the province.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister ordered fast-track implementation of the programme and warned that he would accept no negligence and waste of public money by officials concerned during completion of the programme.

Provincial education minister Muhammad Khan Lehri, Additional Chief Secretary of Planning and Development Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta and departmental secretaries attended the meeting.
