HARIPUR: All the three tiers of local government system and the local community have prepared integrated district development plan for 2018-19 with the help of GIZ.

Asif Ali Jaah, member district council and focal person for the programme, told journalists here on Sunday that the plan was also approved by the district council during its recent session.

About salient features of the plan, he that it was a medium term development plan for the period of 2018-2022 that was prepared in consultation with all the 180 village and neighbourhood councils, three tehsil councils and district council.

Mr Jaah said that GIZ w arranged consultation workshops for plan. He said it was in fact requirement of budget rules and planning guidelines under the Local Government Act, 2013.

He said that IDDP provided a detail analysis of all the service sectors working under the district government and portrayed the needs and priorities of all sectors.

Mr Jaah said that the medium term development plan was also approved unanimously by the district council during its last sitting. He said that it would guide the district government in its development planning from village council to district level in line with the requirements and mandate of the three tiers of the local government system.
