VEHARI, July 3: Vehari police claimed to have busted a gang of dacoits here on Saturday night. Acting on a tip-off, Danywal police raided a local hotel on the Club Road and arrested ring leader Munir (Hasilpur), Mubarak Ali, Sarwar, Maqsood, Rana Tahir (Chishtian), Abdul Raof (Lahore), Waseem Abbas (Kehror Pucca) and Fahad Ali (Faisalabad).
Active in various districts of south Punjab, the gangsters reached Vehari some two days back and stayed at the hotel.
Police also recovered cash, two cars, valuables and a large quantity of weapons from their possession.
A case has been registered against the arrested accused.
