PESHAWAR, July 3: Trainee medical officers have called off their strike in the Khyber Teaching Hospital, the Lady Reading Hospital and the Hayatabad Medical Complex on Sunday after being assured that the summary for increase in their stipend would be approved in a few days.
The trainee medical officers complained that their colleagues in Punjab were getting Rs10,000 per month while they got Rs6,000.
The chairman of the Trainees Medical Officers’ Action Committee met the postgraduate medical institute dean on Sunday, who assured him that the summary regarding increase in the stipend had been sent to the chief minister and it would be approved in a few days.
The dean said a 300-room hostel was being built in the Hayatabad Medical Complex and funds had been allocated in the current ADP.
