ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has expressed the hope that the upcoming PSL contest would be the last to be played in the United Arab Emirates as “we want to shift the cricket gala event to Pakistan”.

Addressing the opening ceremony of a campaign in connection with the PSL-4 in Dubai, he said that the PSL would see glimpses of the National Stadium, Karachi, and the Qadhafi Stadium, Lahore.

Pakistan, he claimed, was moving towards a bright future under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan who had brought a paradigm shift in the foreign policy in just six months.

“After coming to power, Prime Minister Imran has reviewed policies and Pakistan has become an important player in the region and the stature of Pakistan has increased in the eyes of the world,” the minister asserted.

He said the cornerstone of the present government’s economic policies was to control imports, increase exports, stop de-industrialisation and encourage expatriates to send remittances through legal channels to increase them from the present $20 billion to $40bn a year.
