KARACHI: Pakistan Medical Association on Saturday hailed the Sindh government’s move to introduce The Sindh Injured Persons Compulsory Medical Treatment (Amal Umer) Bill, 2019 saying it was hugely needed and overdue.

“PMA’s long-time demand has been met by the Sindh government, they have presented a bill on providing emergency treatment to injured person on top priority basis free of charge, both at government and private hospitals,” said Dr S.M. Qaisar Sajjad, secretary general, PMA, in a policy statement.

He said the PMA appreciated the Sindh government for presenting that bill, which was need of the hour to save lives of patients with critical injuries.

“The innocent people have been dying in casualty departments of hospitals. This legislation will definitely help the affected persons visiting emergencies.”
