ISLAMABAD: Senior vice-president of the Pakistan Squash Federation Air Marshal Shahid Akhtar Alvi on Tuesday lauded the country’s junior squash side for their triumph in the recently-concluded Asian Junior Team Championship in Pattaya, Thailand.

Alvi, while addressing a press conference, said the win was deserved as the junior players have been consistent with their performances since last year and that Pakistan juniors were considered among the best in the world.

Alvi was full of appreciation for the local coaches, federation and associations and believed they were a major force behind the success.

He said the PSF has requested the Professional Squash Association to allot more junior tournaments to Pakistan and that international tournaments last year have helped players improve their rankings.

The PSF vice-president also revealed that Pakistan will host the Asian Senior Championship in 2021.
