Qadri’s plea to opinion leaders

Published January 12, 2002

LAHORE, Jan 11: Pakistan Awami Tehrik Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri said on Friday that by creating a war-like situation India wanted to sabotage chances of the revival of Pakistan’s economy.

In a statement issued here, he feared that the issue of the shifting of people from the bordering areas would become a human tragedy and an economic burden. Therefore, the opinion leaders in Pakistan must help organize efforts for the rehabilitation of the displaced people.
