THIS is apropos the letter ‘Sindh needs education’ (Jan 5). I was a student of Government High School, Larkana, in 1956-57. At that time government schools of Sindh were excellent with impressive buildings, good teachers and many sports fields.

Rather than talking about the necessity of good education, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari should take some concrete steps to revive the lost glory of the government schools in Sindh.

I have formed an organisation, Amtul Mujeeb Durrani Educational Trust (AMDET), for the same purpose in the memory of my mother who served as headmistress of Government Girls High School, Larkana. Bilawal is welcome to join this organisation if he is sincere about improving the standards of education in Sindh.

Speeches alone will not help.
