Friend or foe?

Published January 19, 2019

WASHINGTON has sought assistance from Islamabad to help it kick-start the stalled peace talks with the Taliban. Dawn’s Jan 16 issue has reported about this development. At the same time, news about another development in the US capital has truly amazed me. A resolution has been tabled in US Congress to delist Pakistan as a major non-NATO ally.

This makes one wonder where we stand in our relationship with the United States of America. Are the Americans our friend or foe?
