RAWALPINDI: Intelligence and law-enforcement agencies have made recommendations to the Punjab government to include names of the banned Hizbul Tehreer outfit’s known activists in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, to avoid resurgence of the banned organisation in the country.

Informed sources told Dawn that the move had come after security and intelligence agencies reported distribution of leaflets of the banned outfit in Rawalpindi and Islamabad in what these agencies termed a reflection of re-emergence of the outfit in the twin cities.

The sources said that the issue was also discussed in detail at a high-level meeting held recently here.
