SIALKOT: Two people suffered injuries in unprovoked Indian shelling in Harpal and Charwah sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary here on Thursday.

According to a Punjab Rangers official, farmer Afzaal Shabir (35) was working in his fields at Meraajkey-Kingra village in Charwah sector when the Indian Border Security Force fired bullets at 1:56pm. The bullets hit him on his legs and arms, causing him critical injuries.

In the second incident, the BSF targeted villages in Harpal sector as a result a mentally-challenged person, Mushtaq Ahmed (45), of Lungay-Pasrur suffered critical injuries.

The injured were shifted to Sialkot Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in a critical condition.

Punjab Rangers responded effectively, making the Indian guns silent, said the official.
