LANDI KOTAL: Two persons were killed when rival groups exchanged fire during a jirga in Jamrud on Thursday.

Confirming the incident, khasadar officials said that armed tribesmen belonging to rival groups resorted to firing after an exchange of hot words during jirga proceedings at the hujra of Malakzada Naseer Ahmad in Ghundi.

The firing resulted in killing of Qisam Gul Abdalkhel on the spot while Haji Jamal Gul was critically injured.

Later, Jamal Gul also succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The two groups had a long-standing land dispute.
