LAHORE: Punjab Minister for School Education Murad Raas says his department is introducing a mobile app in 100 selected primary schools of the city.

He said this at the office of the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board office on Tuesday.

Mr Raas said the application was being designed in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board to organise educational activities in schools. He said the application would help teach science, math and English to students and for giving homework.Mr Raas said new children’s data should be collected from local government and health departments at the union council level to monitor their educational process. This would help the government identify out-of-school children besides increasing enrolment.

He said that electronic transfer policy of teachers would also be introduced through integrated management information system. This would help to eradicate undue delay in disposing transfer cases.

The minister said the role of his department was very important in implementing agenda of educated Pakistan and the department was working hard to educate every child in the province. The department will introduce and encourage vigorous sports activities in schools to engage students in healthy sports. “We are reserving two periods per week for sports and the events would also be held at the level of tehsil, district, division and province to bring out best sports talent,” he said.
