Child hero

Published January 14, 2019

THIS is apropos the letter ‘Child hero’ (Dec 8) which paid tribute to Aitzaz Hasan Bangash — a schoolboy who sacrificed his life by grappling with a suicide bomber to prevent him from entering his school, thereby saving the lives of dozens of students.

The writer has expressed pride, saying, ‘No one can harm Pakistan if it has children like Aitzaz’.

But, having said that, it is unfortunate that we have reached a point where our children have to cope up with suicide bombers. It is a matter of great concern that our education institutions are not safe.

We need to rethink of mistakes that we had committed in the past which brought us to such a point.
