ABBOTTABAD: A woman and her son suffocated to death while another child was admitted to hospital in critical condition in Havelian area here on Saturday.

According to police, Gul Fareen, wife of Liaquat, and sons, Faisal and Umar, went to sleep on Friday night while leaving a gas heater on.

Later in the night, the gas supply was suspended and when it was restored the room got filled with gas, suffocating the woman and her son, Faisal, to death. Umar went unconscious.

The family had to break open the door to the room when the inmates did not come out till late in the morning. The dead and the unconscious boy were shifted to the regional health centre, Havelian. The boy was later shifted to Ayub Medical Complex where he was improving.

It may be noted that this is the third incident of suffocation in last 10 days, taking lives of 10 people.
