SCO summit next week

ISLAMABAD, June 28: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will represent Pakistan at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Kazakhstan’s capital Astana next week. The one-day summit of the six-member SCO is scheduled for July 5.

The summit will provide an opportunity for high-level political contact between Pakistan and India as both the countries are invited as observer nations.

External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh will represent India at the summit as Indian premier has been invited to the G-8 summit in Scotland around the same time, it is learnt.—Q.A
