KARACHI: Karachi Basketball Club and Clifton Crossover Club beat their respective opponents to enter the quarterfinals of the seniors category in the SSB Cup Quaid-e-Azam basketball tournament here at Arambagh courts on Tuesday night.

In the first match, Clifton Crossover Club beat Askari Alphas 53-45 to become group champions. For the winners, the main scorers were Saad Khan (15 points), Irtiza Hasan (11 points) and Sheroz Asif and Nauman Khan (10 points each).

For the losing side, the leading scorers were Shameer Zaheer (16 points), Syed Bakhtiar (10 points) and Hassam Talha (6 points).

In the second match of the day, Karachi Basketball Club beat strong Binoria Club by 62-43. Raj Kumar Lakhwani was in sensational form and scored 24 points while Wajeeh Abbas and Zainul Abedin scored 15 points each.

For the losing side, the main scorer was Syed Amin was in brilliant form with 28 points to his name. He was well assisted by Abdul Aziz (9points) and Saiful (4 points).

The tournament is being organized by Sindh Sports Board in collaboration with PSWA.
