QUETTA, June 27: The central committee of the National Party (NP) has observed that without a strong political platform and an effective political struggle, the nationalist movement in Balochistan cannot succeed. The two-day meeting of the committee, which began here on Monday with party president Dr Abdul Hayee Baloch in the chair, expressed concern over the sale of ‘precious’ land of Gwadar and accused the ruling party of backing ‘the land mafia involved in the Gwadar land scam.’

“It is a conspiracy against the people of Balochistan in the name of development,” the participants observed and decided to oppose the land sale with the cooperation of the people of Gwadar.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Baloch said that a joint political platform was the need of the hour for achieving the ‘national’ objectives and the NP could play an important role in this connection.

He said that the political workers should establish contact with the people, inform them about the political programme of the party and united them on a political platform for the success of struggle for the achievement of ‘national’, democratic and constitutional rights of the people.

“National awareness should be promoted among the people to accelerate the pace of struggle against the anti-people and democracy forces in the country,” he said.
