PESHAWAR, Jan 11: The district development committee of Dir Lower has approved 28 development schemes to be carried out during the current financial year at a cost of Rs36 million under the Khushal Pakistan Programme and by utilizing local funds.

The meeting, chaired by District Nazim Dr Mohammad Yaqub Khan, was held at Timergara, the district headquarters of Dir Lower, on Friday, said an official statement.

The meeting decided that tenders for the approved schemes would be invited shortly and the schemes completed within the stipulated period to give relief to the people. The people of the area concerned would be responsible for the operation and maintenance of these schemes.

It was also decided that payment for the completed schemes would only be made after verifying that the work was satisfactory in all respects by a technical officer of the planning and development department.

The Nazim directed the officials to ensure timely and judicious utilization of the available funds. He informed the meeting that additional Rs32.90 million, had approved for the district.
