Three gold medals for Nazakat

LAHORE, June 25: Sardar Nazakat Ali claimed three gold medals to help Lahore win the Punjab cycling championship by winning all five events in the one-day contest held at National Velodrome on Saturday. Nazakat clocked one min 23.14 secs to win the one km time trial. Haider of Lahore and Saqib of Sheikhupura secured second and third spot.

Nazakat also remained at top in one km sprint clocking 14.18 secs.

Haider (Lahore) and Saqib (Sheikhupura) again came second and third.

Nazakat registered third win in the elimination race. Siddique (Sheikhpura) and Ashraf (Lahore) seized second and third spots. Ashraf Masih clocked five min 33.01 secs to win fourth gold medal of Lahore in four km individual pursuit. The Lahore team completed the tally by winning the four km team pursuit with a timing of five mins 42.98secs.

Results:

One km time trial: Sardar Nazakat (Lahore), one min 23.14sec; Haider (Lahore); Saqib (Sheikhupura). One Km sprint: Sardar Nazakat (Lahore) one min 14.18sec; Haider (Lahore), Saqib (Sheikhupura).

Four km individual pursuit: Ashraf Masih (Lahore), five min 35.01secs Hassain (Sialkot), Ramiz (Lahore).

Four mm team sprint: Lahore one minute 18.80sec; Sheikhupura, Sialkot.

Elimination race: Sardar Nazakat (Lahore), Siddique (Sheikhupura), Ashraf (Lahore).
