ISLAMABAD: Three Pakistan players moved to the quarter-finals of U-13 and U-15 at the US Junior Squash Championship after defeating their opponents in the fourth round of the event being staged at Philips Academy, Boston.

Four Pakistanis — Abbas Zeb (U-19), Mohammad Hamza Khan, Noor Zaman (both U-15) and Humam Ahmad (U-13) — are featuring in the event.

According to the information received here on Monday, Humam beat Koretan Omar of Egypt 11-7, 11-2, 11-7 to reach the U-13 quarter-final where he faces another Egyptian named Salem Youssef.

In U-15, both Noor and Hamza won their respective matches to reach the quarter-finals. Hamza beat Colombias Thing Edward 11-6, 11-7, 11-5. He meets Mohamed Abdullah of Egypt in the last-eight stage. Noor overwhelmed Chitturi Varun of the US 6-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5. He faces Carney Tedd of the US in the quarter-final. In U-19, Egypt’s Atef Ismael overcame Abbas 12-10, 8-11, 7-11, 5-11.
