SHIKARPUR: Veteran political figure and chieftain of the Bhayo community in Shikarpur Sardar Wahid Bux Khan Bhayo passed away here on Thursday at the age of 65.

Bhayo was a prominent leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and remained a member of its central executive council and a member of the Sindh Assembly.

The sardar had recently suffered a severe heart stroke during travel by air from Islamabad to Karachi and was recovering at his residence ‘Jagan House’ when a second severe stroke on Thursday took his life.

Sardar Bhayo had graduated from London and played a very important role in politics for the PPP in Shikarpur.

Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh and other PPP leaders and elders of various tribes expressed their condolence on his demise.

Sardar Bhayo would be laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Jagan village of Shikarpur district on Friday.
