ISLAMABAD, Jun 24: Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri has called for continued US involvement for a result-oriented dialogue between Pakistan and India. He was talking to Dr Stephen Krasner, Director for Policy Planning and Assistant Secretary of State in the US Department of State, who called on him here on Friday.

Kasuri noted that a number of CBMs had been adopted and progress had been made in bilateral relations. He said while there had been some measures of success, much more needed to be done. A just settlement of the Kashmir dispute was critical to successful outcome of the ongoing dialogue, the minister said and added that a status quo was neither acceptable to Pakistan nor to the Kashmiri people.

Mr Kasuri recalled his recent visit to the United States and his discussions with the US leadership during which it was agreed that Pakistan and the United States now had a unique relationship.—APP
