Out of order ATMs

Published December 10, 2018

SORRY the ATM is out of order – I feel this is the only thing that flashes on the screen every time anyone goes to the ATM and urgently needs cash.

In search of money, people wander from ATM to ATM but in vain. If banks can’t cater to the monetary needs of their customers in a timely manner, they should pull back this offer for good. Moreover, the customers pay a considerable amount annually for using the ATM service, but they are not accommodated accordingly.

The salaried class awaits the first of every month impatiently to withdraw their salary and pay utility bills but this often not possible due to the out of order ATMs. The State Bank of Pakistan should make it mandatory for all banks across the country to ensure the availability of cash to every customer.

Similarly, the State Bank needs to oversee the working of all the ATMs closely and a stern action should be taken against the banks’ management which fail to provide cash to the ATM users on time.
