LAHORE: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Punjab visit has been postponed due to his personal engagements, a party spokesperson says.

Mr Bhutto was scheduled to begin his Punjab tour from Dec 13 for what local leaders say to expand his exposure and mobilize local party cadre.

PPP deputy information secretary Munawwar Anjum says the tour has been postponed to January and not cancelled.

He says that the Punjab visit will start from Lahore division as the chairman will give three days to each of the nine divisions in the province.

He will improve his contacts with the workers at grassroots level by addressing workers’ conventions, having one on one meetings with leaders of various wings of professionals affiliated with the party as well as old guards, Mr Anjum says.

The purpose of these activities, he says, is to take the party cadre into confidence on the party policies and future line of action.
