KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has asked a provincial law officer to submit when funds for the completion of under-construction Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College in Lyari would be released.

Some candidates interested in taking admission in the college along with others filed a petition in the SHC against a decision of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for reducing the seats from 100 to 50.

The lawyer for the PMDC sought time to file comments in the next hearing.

On a directive of the bench, two officials of the Sindh works department appeared in court and submitted that ground plus two floors had been completed, but due to shortage of funds the health department had moved a summary to the planning and development department seeking revision of the scheme for further floors.
