MORE than a year ago, there were advertisments for vacant posts for stenographers (BPS-15) by the District and Sessions Court (West) in Karachi.
Following this, the court conducted two consecutive written tests which were eight-hour long — more than 450 students appeared for the test from all over the province.
The first test started at 10am and a judge from the district and sessions court tested us on shorthand. For the sake of merit, the judge gave us the results right after. Candidates who cleared the first test were allowed to move forward. Gradually, the number of candidate started to shrink and only 44 remained.
At 5pm, the same day, we had our second test where were had to answer multiple choice questions, write essays etc. Afterwards, we were told that we would know the result in a couple of days. But unfortunately it has been over a year and we have not heard back from anyone.
Whenever we ask for an update we are told to wait.
I would like to request the district court and Sindh High Court to please look into this.
