KHAR: Body of a seminary student was found in Mamond tehsil of Bajaur tribal district, officials and locals told Dawn on Saturday.

They said the body of Zahidulah, a student of a religious seminary in Kimal area of Mamond, was found from a dry canal on Friday evening.

The local administration has confirmed the incident.

An official told Dawn that the body was recovered by a team of Levies personnel who had been moved to the area soon after receiving information from the local residents about the presence of an unidentified body in a dry channel.

The official said the deceased who had multiple bullet marks on his body was a resident of Jani Shah village of Mamond. After the identification, the official said the body was handed over to his family.

He said no one had claimed responsibility for the murder nor the family had yet blamed anyone.
