NBF: book lovers

Published December 1, 2018

THE National Book Foundation (NBF), a government institution, has been playing a vital role in the field of education for the last several decades. The aim of this institution is to provide books to the readers on reasonable prices.

It has main office in Islamabad and regional offices in Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi. But, unfortunately, many students and book lovers are not aware of this institution. A few days ago, I visited its regional office at Hayatabad, Peshawar, and met its director. He briefed me in detail about NBF and it activities.

NBF provides books on 55 per cent discount if someone is registered with any of the NBF offices. Its books are of good quality. It visits different schools, colleges, universities and hold book fairs across the province. The Peshawar office has been active and playing a key role in spreading education and book culture among the people. It can eradicate menace of terrorism if it is promoted.

The government should give more attention to this institution. I urge all book lovers who are not aware of NBF to visit this institution.
