KARACHI: Unknown pedigree chestnut horse Whip’M, who was not on job in the previous race being beaten by Class Leader by 12 lengths, atoned to the loss while lifing The Salt Range Cup in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

Whip’M gets the better of co-favourite bay horse Toofan by three lengths to return to winning ways having earlier won seven races on a trot this year.

Jan-e-Fida and Chief Sahab, who occupied the next two places on board respectively were not in their true elements which is quite evident from the margin of defeats. The former was placed third seven lengths behind while the latter completed the board further pushed up by eight lengths.

Owned by Mrs. Yasmeen Azher, the victorious horse was ridden home by rider M. Manzoor and sent by trainer Ghulsm Shabbir II. The race was also the days feature event, combined scale order I, II and III and run over five furlongs.

Meanwhile, favourites swept the first three races of the card to oblige all and sundry.

At the outset, chestnut mare I. Gold stretched her winning run edging mare Aas Pass by half-a-length to win the opening race.

Mehak and Murad Queen occupied the next two places respectively on board.

Unknown pedigree bay mare Duran Duran, who failed to finish on the board in the last race denied mare Sanam Kaif to stretch her run winning as she pleased by eight lengths to clinch the next race.

Chestnut mare Dhannak made it two in a row prevailing over mare Pari by three quarter-of-a-length to land the third race.

Rider Mohammad Sajjad and trainer Mohyuddin excelled in their cadres by partnering double apiece.
