LAHORE, June 21: The Punjab U-17 teams which won the Inter-provincial badminton and table tennis U-17 championships-2005-06 were awarded cash prizes on Tuesday. Provincial sports minister, Naeemullah Khan Shahani, gave Rs 2,000 and rackets to each player of the winning teams. Coaches were also awarded cash prizes.

Meanwhile, the Punjab U-17 team also won the Inter-provincial basketball event beating NWFP in the final 106-99 at Abbottabad on Monday.

Fata and Balochistan secured the third and the fourth position.

Badminton: Girls: Saima Allah Rakha, Kiran Kalim, Ayesha Anwar, Anam Khan, Shakeela Bashir. Zarina Waqar (coach). Boys: Danish Altaf, Kashif Ali, Muhammad Adnan, Nouman Hanif,Usama Shamim Ahmed, Wajid Ali (coach), Liaqat Ali (manager).

Table tennis: Girls: Sidra, Tamseeba, Rabia Shaheen, Rabia Agha, Urwaqt-ul-Woosqa, Sakina (coach), Yasmin Akhtar (manager).

Boys: Syed Awais Hasan, Usama Tahir, Muhammad Usman, Shozeb Raza, Abdul Rahim, Saba Waris (coach), Azmat Ullah (manager).
