MULTAN, June 21: City Tehsil Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar on Monday said that the TMA’s income had increased by around 200 per cent during the last four years. Addressing a press conference, he said the TMA had become economically strong and added that its annual income that was Rs130 million four years ago has now swelled to Rs370 million.

He lauded President Gen Pervez Musharraf, Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi for providing unprecedented huge funding for the development of Multan.

He said the TMA had constructed roads and parks during the last 45-month period while solid waste management plant had also started functioning on experimental basis.

He hoped that Wasa would recover its dues worth Rs80 to 90 million during the next fiscal year.

He added the Wasa would be equipped with new machinery. —APP
