LAHORE, June 21: The Pakistan People’s Party celebrated the 52nd birthday of Ms Benazir Bhutto on Tuesday, pledging to extend her full support in her struggle for the restoration of democracy. A cake was cut at the party’s provincial secretariat by central secretary-general Jehangir Badr, provincial president Qasim Zia, secretary-general Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan, information secretary Naveed Chaudhry, deputy information secretary Altaf Qureshi, media adviser Iqbal Sialvi and others.

In their speeches, the PPP leaders hailed the services of their chairperson for democracy.

They also demanded that the exiled leaders should be allowed to return home. They ruled out a deal for the purpose.

The PPP leaders were of the view that the people’s problems would remain unsolved unless the real democratic system was restored.
