LAKKI MARWAT: Three people, including two brothers, were killed over an old enmity in Gandi Khankhel locality near Naurang town here on Tuesday evening.

The incident took place in the limits of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station. Police said Fidaullah and his brother Inamullah were watching a cricket match between local teams near the village when their rivals came there and sprayed them with bullets.

They said Fidaullah, Inamullah and an indentified villager received multiple bullets and died instantly. A teenage boy, Wahab was wounded in the attack, they maintained, adding the assailants escaped the scene on their motorbike.

Police said the bodies and the wounded boy were shifted to a hospital in Naurang town while a contingent of police was sent to the rural area to control law and order situation. The bodies were later handed over to relatives for burial.

Police said they had registered a case against the killers, including Alaf Shah, Javed and Nisar, on the complaint of Khanzada, father of the deceased brothers, and began investigations.

Separately, police registered a case against unknown men for killing Sehargul, a resident of remote Takhtikhel village and dumping his body in the area.

Meanwhile, the Awami National Party has formed a five-member election commission to launch membership drive in the district.

Party sources said a senior leader, Mumraiz Khan, would head the commission which had been formed by the provincial leadership to conduct intra-party elections after the membership drive.
