KARACHI, Jan 10: A 10-wicket match haul by paceman Mohammad Hasnain sent Rest of Sindh crashing to an innings and 43 runs defeat against title favourites Karachi Whites with more than five sessions to spare in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I match.

Hasnain, who picked up six for 45 in the first innings, bagged four for 112 in the second as Rest of Sindh were bundled out for 261 just before lunch at the National Stadium.

The victory gave Moin Khan’s team 24 points from two games after Whites beat Karachi Blues by 98 runs in the Derby clash last week.

Moin, the former Pakistan skipper, claimed five catches in the second innings, including four off Hasnain, for a match bag of seven.

Hasnain’s fellow new ball partner Tanvir Ahmed claimed three for 64 while Shahid Afridi emerged as a useful fast bowler by grabbing two for 21.

Rest of Sindh, with defeat staring in their face, adopted aggressive approach and effectively threw their bats around to collect from useful runs.

Abdul Rahim belted 11 boundaries in his 127-ball 68 while Rizwan Qureshi slammed nine fours and three sixes in his 80-ball 67.

Karachi Whites now take Rest of Balochistan at the National Stadium from Monday whereas Rest of Sindh meet Karachi Blues at the KCCA Stadium.
