RAWALPINDI: A doctor allegedly involved in torturing a young maid was arrested by police after his interim bail expired on Friday. His wife is already being investigated by the army authorities.

Initial medical examination on the 11-year-old maid confirmed that she was tortured. The x-ray report also confirmed that two ribs of the girl were fractured during the torture.

The maid had been tortured by her employers, a doctor and his wife serving as a computer information technology officer with the army.

The doctor, who was on an interim bail, joined the police investigation on Sunday and was taken into custody on Friday.

The doctor’s wife has been nominated as the prime suspect in the FIR registered with the Airport police on the complaint of the Child Protection Bureau. As she was working with the army, her case has been sent to the army authorities for further proceeding.
